Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • strawberry jam and whipped Chantilly cream or whipped Dream Whip for the filling

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C well in advance so it heats thoroughly.
  2. Whisk the eggs with sugar and vanilla until the mixture resembles a cream.
  3. Add the flour and whisk briefly until combined.
  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and pour the cake batter onto it.
  5. Bake it in the oven for about 15 minutes.

  6. Let the cake cool well at room temperature before filling and decorating.
  7. Slice the cake horizontally into two or three layers as desired, then spread a layer of jam on each layer and top it with a layer of cream.
  8. Decorate the cake with cream and jam as desired and refrigerate it for at least two to three hours before serving.
  9. The delicious chocolate cake is wonderful — try it.
