How to Make Safouf

A wonderful recipe for making safouf at home easily and very deliciously. You can adjust the amount of turmeric, or yellow knotweed, to get the flavor and color you want.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups fine semolina
  • 6 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon yellow knotweed - turmeric
  • 2 and a half cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and place in a baking tray greased with a little tahini...
  2. Add raisins mixed with a little flour and press them down with a spoon so they sink into the mixture.... Then garnish the top with nuts, as desired..
  3. Place the safouf tray in the middle of a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35 minutes or more, depending on the strength of the oven..
    Timers: 35 min
  4. After the safouf tray is baked, brown it from the top, then brush the surface with a little syrup, cover, and serve cold
