- Tart Dough:
- 2 cups sifted white flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 150 g butter, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- How to Prepare the Tart Dough:
- Rub the flour with the butter and sugar, then add the egg and vanilla and knead until the dough comes together. Place it in the refrigerator for two hours... - Crème Pâtissière:
- 3 cups liquid milk
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- Lemon zest
Method
- Place about 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan, then add 2 cups of milk and heat until warm.
- Whisk the egg yolks with the third cup of milk, then add the cornstarch, vanilla, lemon zest, and sugar. Add this mixture to the hot milk, stirring constantly over low heat until thickened...
- Add the butter, then pour the mixture into a bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Once the cream has cooled, spread some of it over the baked tart shells...
