Ingredients
- 2 cups coarse semolina
- 1 cup shredded coconut - optional
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup liquid milk
- 1/2 cup animal ghee - can be substituted with butter
- 1/4 cup syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Method
- Start by mixing the ghee with the liquid milk and the syrup (shīra), then place the mixture over heat for a few minutes until it becomes lukewarm...
- Mix the coarse semolina with the sugar and baking soda
- Add the ghee, milk and syrup mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until you have a homogeneous mixture...
- Grease a suitable baking pan with tahini or line it with parchment paper, pour the namoura batter into the pan and decorate as desired
- Place the namoura pan in the preheated oven and bake at 200 degrees with heat from the bottom
- When the edges of the namoura brown, switch to browning the top
- Remove the namoura pan from the oven and pour the hot syrup over it immediately, then set it aside until completely cool
- It is preferable to place the namoura pan in the refrigerator until it sets well before cutting
