How to Make Basbousa or Hareesa
Basbousa, also called hareesa, is one of the easiest and quickest desserts. You can control how sweet the hareesa is by adjusting the amount of syrup you pour over it.

- 3 cups semolina
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup ghee and 1 small cup oil
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup yogurt
- 1 cup water
Method
- Mix all the ingredients well until you get a smooth, well-combined batter.
- Pour the batter into an oven tray greased with a little butter or tahini. Bake the hareesa or basbousa in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes.Timers: 40 min
