Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all‑purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered (icing) sugar, sifted — for coating

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt and whisk them with a hand whisk until blended
  2. In another bowl, beat the butter with the granulated white sugar, then add the brown sugar and beat until creamy
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat
  4. Then add the vanilla, pour the flour mixture over the butter mixture, and fold with a spatula until well combined
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then use a teaspoon to form small balls, roll each in powdered sugar, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

  6. Place the cookie sheet in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 10 minutes

  7. When the cookies finish baking, leave them at room temperature for about 5 minutes
