Steak with white mushrooms and cream — a rich, delicious homemade biftak-style recipe
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef for biftak/steak
- steak seasoning
- pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 10 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup cooking cream
- 1 cup white mushrooms
- 2 large onions
Method
- Marinate the steak or biftak overnight with crushed garlic, vinegar, salt, steak seasoning, and olive oil.
- Fry the steak over low heat. Do not let the biftak dry out completely so it stays tender. When the biftak is cooked, set it aside.
- In the same pan, fry the onion cut into wedges with butter. When the onion softens, add the flour and stir quickly.
- Add the chopped mushrooms and sauté until they soften.
- When the mushrooms soften, add the cream and stir, then let them simmer lightly over medium heat for a while.
- Add the steak that we set aside so it can simmer with them for a while as well, or until the cream thickens slightly.
- Serve the steak with white mushrooms and cream alongside sautéed vegetables or potatoes prepared any way you like.
