Steak with white mushrooms and cream — a rich, delicious homemade biftak-style recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef for biftak/steak
  • steak seasoning
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup cooking cream
  • 1 cup white mushrooms
  • 2 large onions

Method

  1. Marinate the steak or biftak overnight with crushed garlic, vinegar, salt, steak seasoning, and olive oil.
  2. Fry the steak over low heat. Do not let the biftak dry out completely so it stays tender. When the biftak is cooked, set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, fry the onion cut into wedges with butter. When the onion softens, add the flour and stir quickly.
  4. Add the chopped mushrooms and sauté until they soften.
  5. When the mushrooms soften, add the cream and stir, then let them simmer lightly over medium heat for a while.
  6. Add the steak that we set aside so it can simmer with them for a while as well, or until the cream thickens slightly.
  7. Serve the steak with white mushrooms and cream alongside sautéed vegetables or potatoes prepared any way you like.
