Spicy sausage with fried potatoes... Why buy ready-made sausage when you can make it this easily?!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 kg tomatoes (or more, to taste)
  • A little vegetable oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • Sausage meat seasoning:
  • 500 g finely ground lean minced meat
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp hot red chili powder (or more, to taste)
  • A pinch of salt, to taste
  • Note:
  • Using a larger quantity of tomatoes will dilute the heat, so the amount of tomato depends on personal preference.

Method

  1. Mix the minced meat with the rest of the sausage seasoning ingredients.
  2. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces and chop the onion.
  3. In a skillet, add the chopped onion with the oil over the heat and stir until softened.
  4. Add the spicy sausage mixture and cook, stirring, until it’s cooked through. Then add the chopped tomatoes and a pinch of salt and stir.
  5. Cover the skillet or pot and leave over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until all ingredients are fully cooked.
  6. Serve the spicy sausage hot alongside fried potatoes.
