Beef Shawarma — an easy, delicious homemade recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g meat with strips of fat (tender meat suitable for shawarma)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ready-made shawarma spice mix
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt

Method

  1. Slice the meat into thin or wider strips according to your preference.
  2. Mix the meat with the remaining ingredients and let it marinate for at least 1 hour.

  3. After marinating, cook the beef shawarma in a skillet or pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked.
  4. Serve with an onion-and-parsley salad seasoned with sumac to taste, plus tomatoes, tarator (garlic-yogurt sauce), and pickles.
