Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups liquid milk
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 medium spoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Filling:
  • Cooked shredded chicken breast
  • 1 tomato, diced small
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Sliced olives
  • Chopped bell pepper
  • Corn
  • Peas
  • Sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • Chopped parsley
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Make the batter: put all batter ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Prepare the filling by mixing all filling ingredients together.
  3. Grease a baking pan lightly with oil, then pour half of the savory cake batter into the pan so it covers the bottom.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over the batter to cover it completely.
  5. Pour the remaining batter over the filling.
  6. Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) on the middle rack.
  7. Bake the savory cake for 30 to 40 minutes.

  8. Slice the savory cake and serve hot or cold, as you prefer.
