Rice with peas and ground beef — a very simple, rich recipe suitable for the whole family
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 kg peas (in pods)
- 1 onion
- 500 g ground beef
- Black pepper
- Cinnamon
- Toasted nuts for garnish

Method
- Shell the peas from their pods, then wash and drain them.
- In a pot over the stove, sauté the chopped onion until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook it until it dries and changes color.
- Add salt, pepper, and cinnamon and stir, then add the washed and drained peas.
- Stir until the peas are cooked.
- When the filling is cooked, remove only a portion of it and set it aside to use later as a garnish.
- Add the washed and drained basmati rice on top of the filling and stir.
- Cover them with water; when it comes to a boil reduce the heat and leave the rice with peas and ground beef on low heat until it is cooked.
- Transfer the rice to a serving dish and top with the reserved portion of filling and fried nuts as desired.
