  • Half a kilo minced meat
  • 1 dry onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cups long-grain American rice (or you can use basmati rice, depending on your preference and what you have available)
  • Chicken or meat stock
  • Salt, cinnamon, and seven-spice blend (amount to taste)

Method

  1. Sauté the onion briefly, then add the meat, the spice mix and salt, and also add chicken or beef stock with water...
  2. For each cup of rice use 2 1/4 cups of water. Let the water and meat boil for about ten minutes before adding the rice, then reduce to a very low heat for about half an hour. Gently fluff the rice with a fork to check doneness, then leave it for about an additional 5 minutes.
