- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- A pinch of vanilla
Method
- Beat the egg and vanilla, add the powdered sugar and butter and beat well until you get a creamy mixture, then add the flour gradually and continue beating until you obtain a soft dough that is easy to shape; you can put it in a pastry bag, a special machine, or petit four molds and shape as desired...
- Bake them in a preheated oven
- At 180°C top and bottom until they turn light brown... do not leave them in the oven for too long..
- Remove them from the oven and set aside, and do not lift them from the tray until they are completely cool... spread apricot jam on one petit four, place the second piece on top, and optionally decorate with pistachios and sprinkles or as desired...
- To get brown petit fours, reduce the amount of flour and add instead 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa and 1 tablespoon powdered sugar... knead well and bake in the same way as above..
- When removing the brown petit fours, spread them with Nutella and dip in sprinkles or grated chocolate
