Oat cakes with molasses... a tried-and-true homemade recipe for delicious, healthy oat cakes sweetened with natural molasses.
Ingredients
- 5 cups oat flour (or finely ground oats)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter at room temperature or 1 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup whole anise seeds
- 2 tablespoons kahk (cookie) spice blend
- 2 cups carob molasses or any molasses
- Water as needed to bring the dough together

Method
- Knead all the ingredients together well until you have a smooth dough.
- Let it rest for half an hour.
- Shape it using cookie molds.
- Place the discs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 180°C until the cookies are cooked and take on a nice color.
- Serve after they cool to room temperature.
