Minced meat bake with potatoes and mushrooms... a very practical, easy, and quick recipe
Ingredients
- 300 g coarse ground meat
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 100 g or 1 cup canned or fresh mushrooms
- 2 medium potatoes, diced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp seven-spice blend
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp soy sauce, optional
- 100 g, or 1/2 ounce, mozzarella cheese
Method
- Stir the meat with the salt and spices until it dries out, releases its juices, and changes color.
- Add the oil, onion, and green pepper, and stir until the vegetables soften slightly, then add the mushrooms and stir.
- Add the diced, pre-fried potatoes, adjust the salt, sprinkle over the spices and soy sauce, and stir.
- Cover the pan for just a few minutes so the ingredients simmer together, then uncover it, spread the cheese over the top, and turn off the heat as soon as the cheese melts.
- Serve the meat, potato, and mushroom bake immediately.
