Note

There are different versions of maghli, although they all rely on ground rice and caraway in their ingredients. Some recipes add boiled anise to the mixture, and as the mixture thickens, more boiled anise is added.

Step 1

Put the rice and water in a deep pot over the heat; when the water starts to boil, add the sugar, cinnamon and caraway, and continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
