\r\n\r\nIngredients:\r\n\r\n100 g butter\r\n\r\nhalf a kilo kataifi pastry *\r\n\r\nk a cups powdered milk\r\n\r\n3 cups water\r\n\r\nhalf cup cornstarch\r\n\r\nhalf cup sugar\r\n\r\nhalf kilo mozzarella cheese, shredded\r\n\r\nance water\r\n\r\nsyrup\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nMethod of preparation:\r\n\r\nMelt the butter and toss it over the kataifi, rubbing well, then press the mixture into a buttered pan.\r\n\r\nDo not press the kataifi too hard, but make sure the surface is even. Place the pan in the oven and bake until golden on the edges..\r\n\r\nPour the milk dissolved in water with the cornstarch and sugar over low heat, continuing to stir... when the mixture thickens, add the mozzarella and orange blossom water, and keep stirring until smooth and not sticking..\r\n\r\nWhen the sides of the kataifi pan turn golden, remove from the oven.\r\n\r\nPour the cream mixture and mozzarella over the kataifi and return to the oven for 5 minutes.\r\n\r\nWhen removed from the oven, let rest for 5 more minutes and flip onto a serving tray, then drizzle with warm syrup....

Ingredients

  • 100 grams of butter
  • Half a kilo kunafa pastry shreds *
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 3 cups water
  • Half a cup cornstarch
  • Half a cup sugar
  • Half a kilo grated mozzarella cheese
  • Orange blossom water
  • Sugar syrup (qatir/shira)

Method

  1. Melt the butter and pour it over the kunafa pastry shreds, rubbing them well, then spread the mixture into a buttered baking tray.
  2. Do not press the kunafa too hard, but make sure the surface is even. Place the tray of pastry in the oven and bake until the edges are golden.
  3. Put the powdered milk dissolved in water with the cornstarch and sugar over low heat, stirring continuously; when the mixture begins to thicken, add the grated mozzarella and orange blossom water, and continue stirring, watching carefully so it doesn't stick.
  4. When the sides of the kunafa tray become golden, remove it from the oven.
  5. Pour the cream and mozzarella mixture over the kunafa tray and return it to the oven for 5 minutes.

  6. When you take it out of the oven, let it rest for an additional 5 minutes, then invert it onto the serving platter and drizzle it with warm syrup (qatir/shira).
