Recipe story

Za'atar krokrz — light, tasty crackers ideal for breakfast

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons za'atar
  • A pinch of oregano
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • This za'atar krokrz recipe comes from a friend and cook on Sho Tabkhin Al-Youm:

  • From Batoul, this delicious dessert: Lava Cake
  • For more crunch, here is Caramel Popcorn

Method

  1. Mix the ingredients well. Add only a small amount of water because we don't want the mixture to become a soft, bread-like dough — it should remain firm for crackers.
  2. Roll out the cracker dough and cut or shape it as desired.
  3. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes — bake with heat from top and bottom until done.
    Timers: 10 min
  4. Serve with labneh and cheeses.
