Recipe story

Cold Shamwa Cake is an easy, quick dessert made with just a few ingredients. It tastes delicious and refreshing because it is served chilled from the fridge.

Ingredients

  • First layer:
  • 3 cups chocolate biscuits, ground (or plain biscuits mixed with 3 tablespoons cocoa powder)
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 can of cream
  • Second layer:
  • 4 cups liquid milk
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 packets crème caramel mix
  • 1 1/2 cups ground biscuits
  • For the top:
  • Cocoa powder
  • Preparation:
  • In a food processor, grind the biscuits finely, then add the butter and process together.

Method

  1. Add the cream and mix well.
  2. Press the first layer into a baking dish.
  3. Start preparing the second layer by mixing all the ingredients together (except the biscuits). Place them in a pot over the heat and keep stirring until the mixture boils and thickens like custard.
  4. Transfer this mixture to a blender or food processor and blend it with the ground biscuits until smooth.
  5. Pour this mixture over the first layer in the baking dish.
  6. Place the dish in the fridge until well chilled, and sprinkle cocoa powder on top before serving.
