Toast bread with a wonderful thyme flavor... mmm, it tastes even better with a piece of cream cheese or labneh for breakfast. You have to make it yourself and try it.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 tablespoon powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup washed thyme leaves, drained well
- About 1 cup lukewarm water, or as needed for the dough
- Olive oil for greasing the pan and dough
Method
- Mix all the dry ingredients together
- Add the oil, vinegar, and yogurt and mix
- Finally, add the lukewarm water gradually, bringing the dough together and kneading until you get a soft, tender dough
- Add the thyme leaves over the dough and knead again
- Let the dough rise for at least an hour until well proofed... if the weather is cold, it will need more time to rise
- Roll it out into a loaf, then shape it according to the pan
- Grease the pan lightly with olive oil, place in the dough, and brush the top with oil as well. Cover and leave it in the pan until it doubles in size
- Place it in a hot oven with bottom heat, on the middle rack, at 180°C for about 25 minutesTimers: 25 min
- Remove it from the oven when cooked and immediately cover it while hot with a clean towel until it reaches room temperature, then cut it into toast slices
