Ingredients

  • 1 kg red tomatoes
  • 1 can peeled canned tomatoes
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • White pepper, ginger, ground nutmeg, finely crushed garlic, and 2 chicken stock cubes
  • 1/2 kg kafta meat

Method

  1. Grease a Pyrex dish or any ovenproof tray with a little vegetable oil and some butter, then begin arranging the kafta patties evenly. Chop the peeled tomato into small pieces and add 2 cups lukewarm water with the spices and salt. Add all of the above to the kafta patties, then place slices of red tomato on top of them, followed by a layer of fried potatoes, and cover the tray with foil (aluminum foil).
  2. Simmer the ingredients for half an hour over low heat, then put the tray in the oven so the kafta tray takes on a beautiful red color.
