How to Make Zgaleet with Yogurt
Zgaleet with yogurt is one of the old traditional dishes known among older generations in Lebanon. Each region has its own name for this dish, but the ingredients are the same and it mainly relies on yogurt and dough.

- 1 kilogram goat yogurt
- 2 cups Egyptian rice
- Salt, to taste
- Water
- Small balls of dough
Method
- Place the goat yogurt in a pot over the heat, add the salt and water, and stir the mixture well.
- Continue stirring until the yogurt comes to a boil. Meanwhile, wash the rice separately and leave it soaked in water for a while. Add the rice to the boiling yogurt and keep stirring.
- When the rice is nearly cooked, add the balls of dough.
- Stir the ingredients slowly and carefully until the dough balls are cooked through.
- Pour the yogurt with the dough zgaleet into serving bowls and serve. Zgaleet with yogurt can be eaten hot or cold, as desired.
