Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup flour or fine semolina
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons shredded coconut

Method

  1. Sift the flour with the baking powder.
  2. Beat the eggs with the vanilla, then add the sugar, butter, and a pinch of salt, and whisk well with a whisk or hand mixer.
  3. Gradually and slowly add the flour, then the grated coconut, and knead the mixture by hand.
  4. Roll the dough into balls and place a hazelnut or almond in the center of each piece as shown in the accompanying photos. Brush the tops of the şekerpare with egg yolk and place the pieces in the oven at 180°C for about 12 minutes or until the sweets are cooked and golden, depending on your oven..
