How to Make Othmaliya
A very easy and quick recipe for making Othmaliya with ashta. If you already have ready-made kunafa dough or Othmaliya pastry, this recipe will take you no more than half an hour to prepare!

- Ready-made or homemade kunafa dough *
- Sugar syrup
- Ashta or qaymar

- How to Prepare the Ashta:
Method
- Take a quantity of kunafa dough or kunafa strands and spread them over two baking trays of the same size, greased with butter. Place the two trays in a hot oven and leave them until the strands turn golden.
- Remove them from the oven and pour the hot syrup over them.
- Wait until the kunafa dough or strands cool, then place the ashta on the first layer and set the second layer on top of the ashta and the first layer (as shown in the accompanying photos).
- Sprinkle pistachios over the Othmaliya and then pour more syrup over it, as desired....
- How to Make Qaraisha or Ashta
- 4 cups powdered milk
- 8 cups water
- Or
- 1.5 liters liquid milk
- 1 container qaymar
- A very small cup of vinegar
- Put the milk on the heat, and when it starts to boil, add a small cup (equal to an Arabic coffee cup) of vinegar.
- The ashta or qaraisha will begin to separate from the liquid. Place it in a strainer and mix it with a container of qaymar.
