Ingredients

  • 10 sheets puff pastry
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • a pinch of vanilla
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 containers clotted cream or cream
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Nuts
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut

Method

  1. Toast the puff pastry sheets in the oven.
  2. Meanwhile, put the milk with a pinch of cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar in a saucepan over the heat until just heated.
  3. Break the puff pastry sheets into a glass oven dish or Pyrex, sprinkle with the nuts and desiccated coconut, and mix.
  4. Pour the hot milk mixture over the puff pastry, then top with condensed milk and ashta, then put the Pyrex in the oven until the top browns.
  5. Serve the Om Ali with puff pastry immediately while hot.
