Homemade sausages — nothing tastier or cleaner.
Ingredients
- Half a kilo (½ kg) finely minced meat with a little fat (liya — a piece of fat)
- Pine nuts — optional
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground mahalab
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ready-made sausage spice mix
- Salt to taste

Method
- Mix all the ingredients together well.
- Shape the sausages as you like and fry them in a little oil in a skillet until cooked through.
- Serve with fries, tomato slices, finely chopped lettuce and pickles. They’re delicious rolled as sandwiches — you can add a squeeze of lemon or a little mayonnaise to the sandwich.
