Bifteck with potatoes... baked in a tray — a recipe that's so easy and so tasty; everyone loves it.

Half a kilo (500 g) bifteck

1/4 cup vinegar

1 cup water

1/4 cup butter

3 potatoes, sliced into rounds

Sauce:

5 cloves garlic, crushed

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon seven‑spice (baharat)

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 cup water

Soak the bifteck in 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 cup water overnight.
The next day, drain and rinse the bifteck, then put the pieces in a pan over the heat and sear both sides briefly to dry them.
Add the butter and fry until they change color.
Prepare a baking tray and arrange the bifteck pieces side by side with the pre‑fried potato rounds.
Make the sauce: in a bowl mix the crushed garlic with the salt, spices, soy sauce, lemon juice and 1 cup of water, then pour it over the bifteck and potatoes in the tray.
Bring the tray to a simmer on the stovetop for about 15 minutes, then brown the top only under medium heat.
