Awameh with a successful homemade recipe ... very easy to make, just be careful when shaping for nice little balls :)
Ingredients
- 2 and a half cups flour
- A pinch of yeast, 1 and a half cups lukewarm water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- A pinch of salt
- Cold syrup for dipping

Method
- Mix or whisk all the ingredients together until you get a soft, sticky dough.
- Let the dough rise for one hour in a warm place.
- After the time has passed, shape the awameh into the hot deep oil using a spoon or a piping bag.
- When the awameh turns golden, remove it from the oil and drain it slightly, then place it in the cold syrup.
- After two minutes, remove it from the syrup and serve.
