  • 1 large onion
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh green beans, washed, trimmed, and cut
  • A handful of fresh fava bean kernels - optional
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Method

  1. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in olive oil over medium heat until it takes on a nice color.
  2. Add the green beans, salt, and black pepper, and continue stirring. Fresh fava bean kernels can be added at this stage.
  3. When the green beans soften slightly, add a very small amount of water, cover the pot, and cook the green beans in olive oil over low heat until tender.
  4. Serve once they have cooled slightly, with fresh vegetables such as radishes, onions, and sweet peppers of all kinds, and eat with Arabic bread.
