Easy qatayef batter — a reliable, delicious recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon powdered milk
  • 2 cups warm water

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar, salt, and powdered milk and mix.
  2. Add the warm water and stir — you will get a loose batter.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel and let rest for 1 hour.
    Timers: 60 min
  4. Stir the batter after an hour and begin cooking: heat a nonstick pan and pour about 1 tablespoon (or a little more) of batter, spreading it on the hot pan.
  5. When bubbles appear on the surface and the bottom is colored, remove it from the pan. Repeat until the batter is finished.
  6. Cover the cooked qatayef pancakes with a clean towel until they cool before using.
  7. Use the cream from the following link Qamar al-Din with cooked cream , fill the qatayef, and serve with syrup.
