Easy petit fours—one of the nicest cookies you can keep in a tightly sealed jar for a long time.
Ingredients
- 250 g butter
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup cornstarch

Method
- Beat the room-temperature butter with the powdered sugar, beating well until the sugar disappears.
- Add the oil and continue beating, then add the eggs and vanilla and beat well.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and cornstarch together and add them gradually, folding with a spatula or by hand without using an electric mixer or kneading, until you obtain a soft dough.
- Place the dough in a piping bag and shape it as desired.
- Place the petit fours on a parchment-lined baking tray, then put them into a preheated oven at 180°C.
- Leave them in the oven for 10 minutes only, watching carefully.
- When the petit fours have cooled completely, decorate them as desired.
- Note: To make chocolate petit fours, take half the dough and add 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa and 1 tablespoon room-temperature butter so the dough does not become stiff.
