Ingredients
- 3 cups powdered milk
- 7 cups water
- 1 1/4 cups fine semolina, or farina
- Ashta cream for the second layer
- Pistachios for garnish
- Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- A few drops of rose water and orange blossom water

Method
- Mix the milk, water, and fine semolina cold, then put them in a pot over heat, stirring until they boil and thicken.
- Pour into a Pyrex dish and let them cool to room temperature, then spread a can of qimeer (clotted cream) over the top.
- Garnish with crushed or ground pistachios and place the Pyrex in the fridge for at least two to three hours or until the dessert is well chilled.
- Serve Layali Lubnan with the syrup.
- Put the sugar and water on the heat, stirring until it boils... remove any foam that appears on the surface.
- Then add rose water and orange blossom water and let them boil for an additional 5 minutes.
- Finally add a squeeze of lemon and let them boil only a little, about one minute, then turn off the heat.
- Serve the syrup cold with the dessert.
