Method
- Beat the eggs with an electric mixer with the vanilla and lemon zest. Add 1 cup sugar and continue beating until the mixture is pale and fluffy; add the oil and beat, then the milk and beat. Finally, add the flour and baking powder and mix manually using a spoon.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about one hour.
- When it has cooled, spread whipped cream over all sides of the cake and coat the sides with ground almonds. Add food coloring to the fondant and shape flowers to decorate the top. Arrange plenty of sliced strawberries over the surface and drizzle a little chocolate sauce.
