Easy Beef Shawarma Recipe
Beef shawarma is one of the tastiest Arabic recipes, served as a popular Arabic fast-food sandwich in pita bread... who loves it?
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kilo tender beef suitable for shawarma (it is best if it has been frozen a few days earlier, then thawed when ready to use, because freezing helps make the meat tender)

- 1 tomato
- about 10 to 12 cardamom pods
- about 10 to 12 cloves
- 10 tablespoons sunflower oil
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon beef shawarma spice mix (ready-made)
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 teaspoon salt
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Cut the meat into strips or thin to medium slices.
- Cut the orange into eighths, and the onion into quarters.
- Add the spices and all the other ingredients, then mix everything together.
- Cover the shawarma after seasoning it and refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the meat absorbs the marinade well.Timers: 120 min
- Cover a beef shawarma tray with aluminum foil and place it in the middle of a preheated oven at 180-190°C, top and bottom heat, for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Turn the meat occasionally, making sure there is some liquid in the tray so the meat does not dry out.
- A few minutes before removing the tray from the oven, lift the aluminum foil and leave it for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, then turn off the oven.Timers: 10 min
- Serve the beef shawarma with parsley salad, onion and sumac, and tahini sauce.
