Chocolate cookies are one of the easiest treats that kids love... and they're delicious with coffee.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 cups brown or white sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup sifted cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • M&Ms

Method

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. Add the dry ingredients and fold in with a spatula or spoon.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Shape the dough into rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Top each cookie with a few M&Ms
  6. Bake on the lower rack in a medium oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

  7. Then switch on the oven's top heat (broil) for about 3 minutes only.

  8. When you remove the tray from the oven, cover it immediately with a clean cloth to keep the cookies soft.
  9. Allow to cool completely before serving.
