Ingredients:

5 eggs\r\ncup and a half sugar\r\n2 cups flour\r\n3/4 cup vegetable oil\r\n1 cup milk\r\n1.5 tablespoons baking powder\r\npinch salt\r\nvanilla\r\n1 teaspoon ground cardamom\r\n1 teaspoon saffron

Preparation:\r\n

Whisk the eggs, vanilla, sugar, and oil with the milk, then gradually add the flour mixture and stir (you may separate the egg whites and beat them separately, then fold them in at the end for a lighter cake)\

Grease the pan with oil and lightly dust with sesame, then pour in the cake batter and bake until done.

Optional: garnish cardamom-saffron cake with a simple toffee sauce, which is made by:\r\n
