  • 1 dry onion
  • Olive oil
  • 3 ripe tomatoes
  • 1/2 red sweet pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp hot pepper paste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup coarse bulgur (white), or as needed

Method

  1. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in a little olive oil until it softens well.
  2. Add the finely chopped tomatoes, the finely chopped sweet pepper, and the salt, and stir. Leave them over low heat until they soften well.
  3. Add the hot water, hot pepper paste, and tomato paste, stir, and let the water come to a boil.
  4. Add the bulgur and stir, then reduce the heat and cover the pot for 20 minutes until the bulgur with tomato is cooked.
