  • 1 1/2 cups fine semolina
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon anise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup water

Method

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients well, then add the vegetable oil and mix well. Add the water, knead, and let the dough rest for about an hour ...
  2. After the required time has passed, shape the dough into small balls and roll them over the surface of a sieve so they take on a pointed shape as shown in the picture. Then fry the maqroun pieces and dip them in syrup (shira). You can also garnish the maqroun with a sprinkle of ground pistachios, if desired.
