Raisins
Raisins are among the tastiest dried fruits, and are simply dried grapes. They are used in both sweet and savory recipes and are known for their high nutritional value. Make them at home easily!
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- A bunch or bunches of grapes
- Water
- 1 teaspoon lemon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Wash the grapes and drain them.
- Put the baking soda, oil, and lemon salt in a pot full of water and place it over the heat.
- When the water comes to a boil, add one bunch of grapes to the water and let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes maximum.Timers: 3 min
- Remove it from the boiling water and let it drain a little before placing it on a piece of cloth.
- Place it under the sun.
- The next day, change the cloth and replace it with a clean, dry one, and separate the grapes from the bunch so each grape is on its own.
- Leave them in the sun for 5 to 6 days, depending on the heat and strength of the sun (making sure to place them in a dry place at night and cover them), or you can place them in the sun for only a few hours, then leave them in the air away from the sun for 5 to 6 days as well (if dried in the shade, the raisins keep a lighter color).
- Store the raisins in tightly sealed glass jars outside the refrigerator, and keep the jars in a cool, dry place (better than keeping them in the refrigerator) to preserve their fresh taste.
