Homemade Burger
A successful, tasty homemade burger recipe with few ingredients and very low cost. Make burger patties at home—they're cheaper, cleaner and tastier :)

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg finely ground (minced) beef
- Salt
- Pinch of pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp onion powder (optional)

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix all ingredients well, then divide the minced meat into medium-size patties.
- Place each patty between two sheets of plastic or cling film and press with a plate if you don't have a burger press.
- Cook the patties in a wide frying pan, turning until done on both sides.
- Place the patties inside burger buns with tomato slices, shredded lettuce, cheese, pickled cucumber rings, mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard. Some prefer coleslaw or cabbage salad with mayonnaise—use whatever you like.
- Serve the burgers with French fries.
