Delicious coconut muhallabia — a recipe that's as easy as it gets

Ingredients

  • 2 cups liquid milk
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For garnish:
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut

Method

  1. Place the regular milk, coconut milk, sugar, desiccated coconut, and starch in a pot, stir while cold, then put the pot over the heat and stir continuously until it boils and the mixture begins to thicken.
  2. Turn off the heat, add the vanilla, and stir well.
  3. Pour the coconut muhallabia into a suitable serving dish or into glasses and cups for individual portions.
  4. After it cools at room temperature, place it in the refrigerator for enough time to chill thoroughly.
  5. When serving, garnish the muhallabia with grated coconut and serve.
