  • Dough:
  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups lukewarm milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Preparation of dough:
  • First, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk.
  • Spinach filling:
  • Finely chopped spinach
  • Finely chopped onion
  • Sumac
  • Pomegranate molasses
  • Hot red pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Amounts to taste

Method

  1. Roll out the dough and cut out medium-sized circles, place a small amount of filling in each circle, and seal them into squares or triangles as desired.
  2. Be sure to seal the pastries well so the filling doesn't leak during baking.
  3. Bake the pastries in a preheated oven at high temperature for about 12 minutes or until they are golden and cooked through.
