Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon powdered milk
- 2 cups warm water
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar, salt, and powdered milk and mix.
- Add the warm water and stir — you will get a loose batter.
- Cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel and let rest for 1 hour.Timers: 60 min
- Stir the batter after an hour and begin cooking: heat a nonstick pan and pour about 1 tablespoon (or a little more) of batter, spreading it on the hot pan.
- When bubbles appear on the surface and the bottom is colored, remove it from the pan. Repeat until the batter is finished.
- Cover the cooked qatayef pancakes with a clean towel until they cool before using.
