Easy beef shawarma... an unbeatable recipe everyone loves :)
Ingredients
- Beef fillet for shawarma, sliced into thin (not thick) strips
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of ground cardamom
- A pinch of shawarma seasoning (for beef)
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Sliced onion
- Sliced tomato (optional)
Method
- Put the shawarma meat on the heat and stir; add the salt, spices, oil, onion, and tahini and cook, stirring, until the meat is done.
- Add tomato slices on top shortly before it's fully cooked, cover the pot and let the meat finish cooking on high heat so it doesn't get tough.
- Serve the shawarma with tartar sauce, pickles, tomato slices, a salad of onion wedges with sumac and parsley.
- Serve the beef shawarma in Arabic bread or batbout.
