Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or ghee
- 1 cup vermicelli or very thin pasta, broken into small pieces
- Note:
- You can place a kitchen towel under the pot lid when you reduce the heat and cover the pot to get a better result.
- Use a pot with a thick base rather than a thin one to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom.

Method
- Wash the rice well and soak it for half an hour in lukewarm water, not hot.
- Drain it well.
- In a pot, put the vermicelli with oil or ghee and sauté it until it browns.
- Add the drained rice and salt to taste and stir.
- Add 1 cup of water and stir slightly.
- Let the water come to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat immediately after it boils, cover the pot and leave it on very low heat until the rice is cooked; it will need 15 to 20 minutes depending on the amount of rice.Timers: 20 min
