Eggless Tiramisu

Eggless tiramisu — a simple, light version of tiramisu suitable for those who prefer not to use eggs. Layers of cream and Philadelphia-style cream cheese with coffee-soaked biscuits and cocoa on top.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 cup heavy (whipping) cream
  • 1 package Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or more, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee (Nescafé)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
  • cocoa powder

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Dissolve the Nescafe in 1/2 cup hot water, then add 1/2 cup cold water on top and set aside.
  2. Whip the liquid cream with the sugar until thick, then add the cheese and whip briefly until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the mixture in a glass baking dish or Pyrex, then arrange a layer of biscuits after quickly dipping them in the Nescafe.
  4. Cover them with a layer of cream and finally dust cocoa powder on top.
  5. Chill the eggless tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
