Tea biscuits (tea cakes) — you can make them at home now with this clear, easy method.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 12 tablespoons (3/4 cup) softened butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
- In a bowl, put the flour, baking powder and salt and mix well
- In another bowl, put the butter and beat it with an electric mixer for two minutes..
- Add the sugar to the butter while continuing to beat at a slow speed for two minutes
- Add the egg and vanilla to the butter-sugar mixture and beat for one minute
- Add the flour mixture and mix.. then add the milk slowly and knead until you get a soft, cohesive dough
- Divide the dough into two portions and wrap each separately in plastic wrap.. place them in the fridge to rest for two hours
- After the time has passed.. remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutesTimers: 5 min
- Roll each portion of dough between two sheets of parchment.. roll it with a rolling pin and cut the dough using special cutters to form the biscuits or tea cakes
- Arrange the pieces on parchment paper on a baking tray
- Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutesTimers: 30 min
- Preheat the oven on high.. and put the tray into the preheated oven for 15 minutes with monitoringTimers: 15 min
