How to Make Qashta with Semolina
Qashta with semolina, or semidiyya, is a delicious and very easy dessert. Serve it cold with syrup or honey. Here is the easy, tried-and-tested method.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 liter water or 4 cups
- 3 cups powdered milk
- 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
- 1 teaspoon rose water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- a pinch of mastic
- 1 and a half cups coarse semolina
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Serving
- crushed cookies
- syrup or 'sheera'
- or
- honey
- Grind the mastic with a pinch of sugar and add it after we turn off the heat.. because mastic, if boiled, gives a bitter taste
- Sprinkle crushed cookies in the serving glasses and pour the mixture into them
- Sprinkle more crushed cookies on top of the semolina qashta
- Syrup
- Dissolve two cups of sugar in one cup of water

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix all the ingredients except the mastic together
- Place them in a pot over the heat and stir until the mixture boils and thickens
- Grind the mastic with a pinch of sugar and add it after turning off the heat, because if mastic boils it gives a bitter taste
- Sprinkle ground kaak into serving cups and pour the mixture into them
- Sprinkle more ground kaak on top of the semolina qashta
- Let the dessert cool, then place it in the fridge
- Serve it cold with syrup or honey
- Add a squeeze of lemon, a splash of rose water, and a little butter
- Let the syrup boil for a few minutes before removing it from the heat
- Serve the syrup cold
