Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • About 12 lettuce leaves
  • Half a bunch of parsley
  • Half a bunch of fresh mint (or dried mint if that’s what you have)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 2 radishes
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 spring onions or 1 small sweet white onion
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Bread

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Wash the vegetables well after soaking them briefly in water with a tablespoon of salt or vinegar.. rinse them well and let them drain thoroughly
  2. Chop the vegetables coarsely or finely as desired and place them in a bowl
  3. Prepare the dressing.. mix the salt, lemon and olive oil and pour them over the vegetables and mix
  4. Fry the bread in plenty of hot oil for just seconds until it browns then let it cool
  5. Distribute the fried bread over the vegetables and serve the fattoush
