Ingredients
- Chopped onion
- Minced garlic
- Peeled, chopped tomatoes
- Grated carrot
- Cleaned and washed shrimp
- Fish seasoning
- Curry
- Mixed spice
- Black pepper
- Ground cinnamon
- Salt
- Bay leaves
- Cardamom pods
- Cinnamon sticks
- Rice, washed and soaked in hot water with a pinch of salt for 30 minutes

Method
- Place the cleaned, drained shrimp in a pot with boiling water... leave them on the heat for a quarter of an hour, then drain and rinse them
- Sauté the chopped onion and garlic in a little vegetable oil until soft, then add the chopped tomato and grated carrot and stir until the vegetables soften
- Add the shrimp, sprinkle the spices, and stir a little until they are cooked
- Add boiling water over them according to the amount of rice (each cup of rice requires 1½ cups of water)
- After boiling, add the rice and leave them on high heat until the water reaches the level of the rice
- Reduce the heat and place a cotton cloth designated for making rice under the lid, then cover them
- Steam them — that is, leave them on very low heat for a third of an hour (20 minutes) or according to the rice quantityTimers: 20 min
